The collaboration agreement between the Onlus UniPancreas Association and the CNR IIT Institutes of Rende (CS) and ICAR of Naples, aims to facilitate contact and monitoring of patients with pancreatic cancer through specialized telemedicine services. The aim of the activities is to improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment, providing both professionals and patients with a system that allows them to have up-to-date information for both diagnosis and research purposes.
The services will be offered through a web platform that aims to facilitate the relationship between medical specialists and users, improving the exchange of documents and clinical data by providing remote assistance services and managing clinical data structured in a coherent manner.
Advantages of the platform:
• improve the right of access, or the right of a patient to access health services (patients who live in areas distant from care services or who have difficulty moving from their home)
• ensure continuity of care, thus improving the quality of the service (especially for chronic patients and for the possibility of accessing excellent services)
• make the health service more effective, efficient and fair (potentially reaching all patients, improving communication and coordination of care between members of a health team)
• decrease health care costs
• improve the outcome of treatment by being able to identify severe side effects early
